Phew.... What a week!

I missed writing here. So many things I wanted to write but didn’t manage to get hold of my laptop for the last 9 days!

Although we were not First Timers in the kids-1st-day-at-school business, this time around with Haifa (Std 1) and Hanis (kindy)... wooo... it was very-very ‘mencabar’ indeed! As expected, they both cried lah...

The first day of school, Hanis refused to go into the classroom and cried incessantly. Look at Hanis - the mata bengkak & hidung merah... ciaaann...

The kindy was the same one that Hanna, Hasya and Haifa went when they were 4, 5 & 6yos but Hanis... she totally refused to join in her classmates. We thought that .. alaa... she’d adapt later, but then when it was Ayah’s turn to watch over her at the kindy (and I at Haifa’s Sekolah Kebangsaan), Ayah didn’t like what he saw.

He saw the 4yos were made to line up to go to the loo. In that one small loo, there were 1 sink, and 2 toilet bowls – one for girls and one for boys. They go in and pee (girl and boy next to each other), pull up their undies and walk off. When it came to the end of the line, then they’ll only flush. Can you imagine 25 kids doing that? Aiyooo... Why didn’t I see this when Hanna, Hasya and Haifa were the students there? Maybe I took things for granted?

So that was it. We scouted for another loo, oops.... another Kindergarten... and tried Hanis there. She cried, again as expected. But we were confident that she’d be ok.

And today’s the 1st time she didn’t cry! My Hanis didn’t cry! In fact she looked forward to go to school today. It’s just that she refused to wear the uniform since she wanted her teacher to do that for her.

I hope she’ll be ok in this new kindy. Although the RM1,3XX we paid for the first kindy will not be refundable, I’m pretty sure we made the right choice with this one.

My Hanis.... a ‘big’ girl now! Alhamdulillah!

All of the RM1300+ not refundable? At least part of the fees should be. But anything for the little one to be happy at school, right? Hope she'll settle in well soon.

I remember at my boys' kindy, they could go to the loo anytime. No need to queue ... after all, you can't expect all the boys and girls to want to go all at the same time!!

Hi DDI!

Tersedak I baca part the students kena line up and only flush toilet bila sampai yang last sekali. Kencing side by side laki pompuan pulak tu..issh...kalau Wlily pun memang tak berkenan lah style macam tu. Could it be the kindy nak save water bill ke?

My little girl will start going to kindy this coming September. Now ni pun dah malu nak bukak seluar depan abang2 and father dia..kalau suruh line up kencing side by side sure menangis dia tu..You and hubby did the right thing, and Hanis pun tak nangis lagi kan?

Kak Ja, mahalnya kindy tu? kedekut yg amat pulak tu! Ada ke flush toilet once after ALL the children had done theri business? That is so freaking gross! you should write a formal complain and let other parents know about it too.

Hello Ibu, your daughter is very pretty, ikut mak dia, ha ha.
Anak you menangis first day of school....for me, bila mak saya hantar say, duduk dua jam, dia balek rumah.

Saya ta'orang looking chabut! The police found me walking home 2 miles away, ha ha.
Mak saya terperanjat besar when the policemen knocked the door holding my hand...I was 6 years old.

She had a few words with the cops, they brought me back to school. They told me if I run away again, they put me in jail.
I never ran away again....
Imagine at 6 years old get involved with police, ha ha.
You have a great week, Lee.

Dear QOTH,
I called the kindy on the 3rd day of school. The pricipal told me that.. according to her she has rejected new applications. I said, try to do what you can lah, since that fees dah included the Nov09 fee, school materials for the whole year etc.. anak I baru masuk 2 hari... and also sebab my 3 daughters dah kat situ since 2001, takkan tak boleh kot. Dia kata she'll try.

In other words.. tak boleh la tu.. :(

Dear Yus,
Today's the 2nd day Hanis tak cry... and I'm sooo happy today sebab dia nak pakai uniform tu dari rumah. At least an improvement dah...

Cuma, she won't say a word at school. Tak pa lah at the moment sebab at home dia tak berenti bercakap..hehehe...

The fees tu inclusive school materials, uniforms, Jan & Nov09 fees etc lah. Tu yg jadi banyak tu. I hope to get at least some $ balik mcm QOTH kata tu... tapi tak tau lah...

Dear Waterlily,
That happened on the 2nd day of school. I pun tak tau whether it's a routine ke apa for the 4yos. Maybe tengah bz ka cikgu & the assistant, I don't know.

But whatever it is, it's a good thing that my hubby was there on that day. Masa 1st day tu, I terpaksa masuk class jadi student jugak... sebab Hanis keriau tak nak masuk class... Tu yg tak tau what happened outside tu.

Good Luck nanti with your daughter nanti... I think she' I think she's like my Haifa... nak bukak selak pinafore (school uniform) untuk betulkan blouse dia pun malu. Itu depan maid & her sisters. Tapi kadang2 tu selamba jugak I tengok. Ikut mood rasanya tu..hihihi...

Dear Farina,
The older children can go to the toilet sendiri, thus they don't have to line up. Rasanya for the 4yos buat macam tu kot... sampai diorang pandai pegi sendiri...but I'm not sure whether it's a routine for them.

Reg the formal complaint, I think the parents kat situ mesti nampak... maybe they don't mind kot???

U.Lee!!!
You walked 2 miles, alone??? Wah... the Super-Berani 6-yo lah you!!

I bet your mom must have the shock of her life when she opened the door to a policeman and her 6-yo son. What did he do this time, sampai police gotta send hi9m back...hehehe..

You're full of adventureslah U.Lee. You know what, I'll be the 1st in line to get your memoir... hope you could write one... what say you?

Hi Kak Ja,

So how was Hanis today? You know, I remembered the lining up to the loo when Balqis enrolled her kindy last year. But they had boys & girls in 2 diff toilets. The flushing... hmm, I gotta do some interrogation tomorrow lah. Tx for highlighting. Hope that they have settled well in school & kindy. Take care.

How I wish he was my grampa ... huhu ....

BTW, dia cerita pasai anak2 dia yg semuanya otak kiri ... dan cerita dia merajuk dgn komputer sbb anak dia tinggalkan komputer kat US, dan cerita pasai cucu dia rambut spike bubuh Yardley (apa maksudnya tu?) -- I tak faham part Yardley tu ... tp I gelak besar sebab cara dia cerita ...

Dia bg kitaorg homework pasai pantun ... mampuih nak mereka malam ni ....

Well Kak Ja ... wishing you all the best with your family and have a nice day!

Ja,

Biaq betoi??!! First time I dengaq ceghita "25-in-1" toilet flush nih! Teghuknya lah hai. Berkigha sangat nak bayaq bil ayaq ka? Selangor government tak cukup subsidize lagi kot?!

I think you and Ayah have made the right decision taking Hanis out from there, but, agak musykil why they cannot refund the fees lah. Admin fees kalau nak retain pun, RM50-RM100 cukuplah kan?

I think you should lodge a complain about the toilet AND about this non-refundable fees ni, Ja. RM1,3XX is not a small amount tu...

Dear Ja,
I hope the 'flushing' at Balqis's kindy is done correctly...

Hanis so far so good lah. Dua-tiga hari ni she looked quite reluctant to get out of my car when I send her to school... but she said she likes going to school... :)

Peesha!
Laaa.. macamana boleh jumpa my father? Oo.... Peesha kat Terengganu ya... I asked my mom, last week Ayah pi mana? My mom kata pi Terengganu.. kalau tak silap UITM kan?

That anak yg tinggal PC kat US tu ... well, that was me..hihi.. I remember he sent the money to me to US - beribu-ribu lemon jugaklah - but I couldn't bring my Macintosh home due to the diff in voltage... At that time, I was told -susah, sebab nak kena pakai adapter and etc la.

I also don't know what he meant dgn Yardley tu. Tanya my mom, she said zaman dulu minyak rambut yg nak keraih rambut tu famous dgn that brand punya... hehehehe... My nephew tu tgh tunggu SPM result tu...

Take care Peesha :)

Shana dear,
So far I haven't heard from that kindy. Memang la banyak tuuu.. boleh beli pampers setahun! At least they should give me back the November09 & the materials fees. Bukan pakai pun buku dia, kan?

Lepas Chinese New Year ni I akan call that kindy... Hopefully they'll refund la sikit...

Pasal toilet tu, I rasa other parents should see for themselves & furthremore I tak nak cari fault dgn diorang pulak. Hanis pun tak sekolah situ dah. I wonder mcm mana Hanna, Hasya & Haifa pergi toilet kat sana dulu... isshh...

Dalam Dakapan Ibu said...

Dear Syana,
Tu lah tu... sampai merah2 hidung dgn mata lepas tu. Hanis tu namapak saja kecik & fragile, tapi dia tu very 'firm'... kalau tak mau tu, tak maulah...

I'm happy that she's now settled... :)
